Victor Fischer, Director Emeritus, Institute for Social and Economic Research, University of Alaska Anchorage

Victor Fischer is professor of public affairs at the University of Alaska Anchorage, where he is the director emeritus of both the Institute for Social and Economic Research and the Office of Russian Affairs. He has degrees from the University of Wisconsin, MIT and Harvard. Mr. Fisher has held positions with federal, state and local governments devoted to regional and community development. He was an elected delegate to Alaska’s constitutional convention and served in the Alaska state senate. He has lived in Russia, Germany, Ukraine, and the United States.
