Sergey Sevastyanov
, Professor of International Relations; Director of the International Studies Center; and Vice President for International Programs, Vladivostok State University of Economics and Service (Vladivostok, Russia)

Sergey Sevastyanov is director of the International Studies Center, and professor of International Relations at the Vladivostok State University of Economics and Service (VSUES). He is an expert in Asia Pacific international relations, specializing in multilateral cooperation models in economics and security. He participates in several international research projects on comprehensive security of the Northeast Asia and the Russian Far East. Among his recent publications are: Russian Reforms: Implications for the Security Policy in the Russian Far East (NBR Analysis, Seattle, 2000); The Russian Far East, and New Regional Development Co-operative Plans” (NIRA Policy Research, Tokyo, 2001); The Russian Far East’s Security Perspective: Interplay of Internal and External Challenges and Opportunities, Slavic Eurasian Studies, Sapporo, 2005; Chapter on Russia, “Asia Pacific Security Outlook 2005”, Tokyo, 2005. Sergey Sevastyanov holds a M.S. degree in National Resource Strategy from the National Defense University, Washington D.C., and Ph.D in Political Science from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO), Moscow, RF. He is a member of the International Studies Association
